 Artist Statement

Every artist’s work is really a series of self-portraits.  Not maybe as obvious a Frida Kahlo, but never-the –less art is a picture story of what resides in the heart, mind, and soul of the artist.  What they most want to say is what they mostly care about and that speaks about who they are.  My work is no different.   My work explores my spirituality, what I strive for, desire most, and what it means to be a feminine soul as well as a flesh and blood woman.  Often I’ll depict spirit beings, souls, angels, or women who are both highly spiritual and down to earth.  I love to make bowls as they are both highly spiritual and feminine, and they are what brought me back to making art. I also love to make handmade book which are also a symbol of the feminine.  Often you will see moons and stars in my work.

 Recent accomplishments include:

Hi! I was downstairs and saw your website as Jos was reading it. I was struck by your artwork and came up to look at it in more detail on my own. I am glad that you have written about art work being spiritual heaaling soul work … I believe most creative expression is just that … Thanks for your willingness and courage to share yourself with the world.
