- Spirits of Autumn by Marcella Paliekara
We here in Wisconsin have had a rather cool July, and at times I’ve felt as though it was already Autumn. I have spied a few golden leaves , flakes of tomorrow, hidden among the green, and sometimes the insects have made their buzzing sounds just a little too early in the day as they will do in only in fall. It feels like the spirits of change, those that make us introspective, are here already waiting for the leaves to fall one by one, and our thought to turn inward to the unknown or unexplored in our hearts. What we find may be the most brilliant and the most beautiful, but it may be too late to hold on too for long. Autumn is the season of bitter sweet that reminds of the glory and miracle of life that never lasts long enough.
This piece is for the third annual women’s exhibit at the Hang Up Gallery in Neenah, WI. The exhibit starts on August 1st – 31st. If you would like to purchase this piece, it will be available to ship after the show ends.
